On Friday, I visited the Celery Farm, a wonderful nature preserve that is quite close to my house. The Celery Farm, a freshwater wetland, is home to wetland-favoring species like Common Yellowthroat and Great Egret, but also contains surrounding woods and a mostly wooded trail that harbors many species of migrants annually. It was not particularly birdy the morning I visited, but it was a beautiful day, I got awesome looks at Yellow Warblers, and got my lifer Warbling Vireo.
Highlights:
Great Egret
Tree Swallow
Warbling Vireo
Yellow Warbler
Common Yellowthroat (heard only)
Baltimore Oriole
